How to Save Money and Still Hire a Great Wedding Photographer

Brides, here’s my honest advice as a wedding photographer on how to save money AND still hire a great photographer 🤍

After photographing many weddings, I’ve seen what truly matters — and what doesn’t.

✨ Check the photographer’s website

A professional photographer should have a website with full galleries and clear information. If someone doesn’t have a website and your budget isn’t very tight, it can be a red flag. Your wedding deserves a true professional.

✨ Check Google reviews

Real couples share real experiences. Reviews tell you a lot about reliability, personality, and results.

✨ Schedule a video call (VERY important!)

This is where you feel the connection. You can ask questions, discuss pricing, and understand how your day will flow.

I always explain how I photograph and how we build the timeline. Brides can ask me anything.

And honestly — I love these calls because couples start preparing for their wedding during this meeting. They don’t even realize it, but they receive so much information and leave knowing what to do next.

✨ Be careful with venue “recommended photographers”

Often you pay extra because it’s a business arrangement between venue and photographer, and the style may not match your vision. Choose someone whose work you truly love.

✨ Invest in full-day coverage

This actually helps you save nerves and money. You don’t watch the clock — you enjoy your day. I create a photography timeline so we calmly capture everything: getting ready, details, portraits, and real moments from the whole day.

✨ Choose a professional photographer and then relax.

Your photographer will guide you from the first meeting to your wedding album and prints after the wedding.

Yes — I design the album for my couples, we can adjust anything you like, and you can always print more art from your wedding day. Remember — this is your once-in-a-lifetime day

I see weddings every month. For you and your groom, it’s once in a life (maybe twice — but I wish you only one 😉).

🤍 And my biggest honest advice:

Don’t try to save money on your photographer. Flowers fade, cake gets eaten, decor gets packed away… but your photos stay forever.

✨ Choose the photographer you truly trust. Trust your intuition.

These photos are not only for you — your kids, grandchildren, and next generations will enjoy them for many, many years.
